No, pets are not allowed.

All reservations at YALO must be guaranteed with a credit card. If you have booked a non-refundable rate, your credit card will be charged immediately upon reservation. If you have chosen a flexible rate, the amount will not be charged to your card but we still need your card details to guarantee your reservation. In this case payment will be requested upon arrival. We recommend that you read the cancellation policy for your chosen rate carefully.

Location/Parking/Transportation
YALO is located in the center of Ghent, but is still easily accessible by car via Gent Zuid. Please note that our underground parking garage has a different address than the hotel and has 50 parking spaces. To reach our parking enter ‘Vlaanderenstraat 26‘ or ‘Yalo Hotel Parking‘ in Google Maps or the Waze app. Do NOT enter the address of the hotel. Otherwise you will drive too far, and you will not be able to turn around. The rate is 32 euros per day. There is direct access to the hotel through the parking lot.
We always recommend using Google Maps or Waze as your GPS may not be adapted to the Ghent circulation plan and will not point to the correct route.
Please note that Ghent has both a circulation plan and a low emission zone, the Yalo Hotel is located in the low emission zone: polluting vehicles that do not meet the admission requirements are not allowed to enter the zone. Avoid a 150 euro fine and check in advance if your vehicle meets the requirements.

Are you coming from abroad?
It’s very important to register your vehicle via the tool. This is required for all vehicles with a foreign license plate or license plate, except for the Netherlands.
To improve air quality for residents, a low-emission zone is in force in the city center of Ghent. Yalo Hotel is located in the low-emission zone. This means that vehicles must fulfill a few conditions to be allowed to enter this zone.
We strongly advise you to check your vehicle in advance, this can easily be done with the check tool: https://lez.stad.gent/nl/flows/controleertoegang and avoid a fine.
For an admitted foreign vehicle, registration is mandatory. Except for vehicles from the Netherlands it is not required. Simply follow the steps at the check tool.

Do you drive a vehicle with a Dutch license plate? Then you don’t need to register the vehicle after checking.
Go to the online tool: enter the license plate, the date of first registration and the country code.
Go through all the steps: fill in the information as it appears on the vehicle’s registration certificate to get a correct answer.
You will receive an email confirming your application: did you not receive an email? Then check your SPAM inbox. Can’t find the email there either? Then something went wrong. Try again or contact the LEZ team on 09 210 10 30.
You will receive an e-mail with the decision: after 14 days you will receive an e-mail with the decision about your application:
> If your application is approved, you can drive into the low-emission zone.
> If your application was denied, the reason is also given. Maybe you still need to upload a piece of evidence or the vehicle does not meet the conditions.

This is the city’s largest shopping area with stylish boutiques, quirky restaurants and specialty shops that have been around for generations. With a nod to New York’s trendy SoHo, this neighbourhood is a must for those who love fashion and culture. On Sundays, you can also find several flower and flea markets near the hotel.
You can park in our underground car park at Vlaanderenstraat 26, enter this address or “Yalo Hotel Parking in your navigation system. The car park has direct access to the hotel. If our car park is full, you can park briefly on the François Laurentplein to unload your luggage. Afterwards you can drive to the public car park on the Kouter or the public car park Gent Zuid. Both car parks are only a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

If our parking is full you can park in other city parking lots: Zuid, Kouter or Reep.

From Gent-Sint-Pieters station take tram T1 (or T3) with destination ‘Gentbrugge’. Get off at the stop ‘Gent Vogelmarkt’. The ride takes about 15 minutes. The Vogelmarkt is 200 meters from the hotel.
From Gent Dampoort station you can take several buses. Get off at the ‘Gent Zuid’ stop. The stop is 200 meters from the hotel.
We recommend checking current trams, buses and travel times in advance. Plan your ride via DeLijn.
You can also easily take a cab from either station. The price of a cab to YALO is 10 to 14 euros.

No unfortunately, we don’t take reservations for our bar and rooftop bar, you can just drop by during opening hours.

YES, reservations for breakfast are possible!
From Monday to Friday you can reserve a table between 8.30 and 9.30 am. During the weekend reservations are limited and can be made for a minimum of 3 persons. Book your table via our website or come by without a reservation, walk-ins are still possible based on availability.
Our restaurant is very popular in Ghent, especially on weekends. We strongly recommend reserving a table in advance if you want to be sure of a seat in the restaurant.
The restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between.

YALO restaurant is open to guests and locals and serves small sharing dishes and classics with a foodie twist. The restaurant is known for its wine cellar and serves wine from a local vineyard in Ghent. Opening hours are 12h00 – 14h30 for lunch and 18h30 – 22h30 for dinner. The restaurant is loved by locals so we strongly recommend booking in advance at our reception desk or via our website.
Our tables in the Restaurant (especially on weekends) sell out very quickly. This means that we highly recommend reserving a table in advance if you want to be sure of a seat!
Breakfast is served daily between 07.00h and 10.45h in our restaurant on the ground floor.
Room Types and Facilities
A junior suite is a spacious room with a sitting area. A penthouse terrace room is a normal sized room on the 5th or 6th floor with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city.
A prepaid rate is the cheapest rate for guests who are sure of their travel plans. However, this rate cannot be cancelled, modified or refunded and the full amount of the booking will be immediately charged to your credit card.
A flexible rate allows you to change or cancel your booking up to 48 hours before the day of arrival.
The city view rooms have a city view while the standard rooms do not have a specific view. There is no difference in the interior.
We have Uptown and Downtown rooms in all room types. There is no price difference but the design of the rooms is different. The Downtown rooms have a floor-to-ceiling wall cupboard containing the bed and a light screen. The Uptown rooms have a hybrid wall cabinet with a washbasin outside the bathroom. Pictures of both rooms can be found on the website.
A twin room has two separate beds while a double room has one king-size bed. The twin beds cannot be made up with one double duvet.
Due to lack of space, the maximum number of guests per standard room is two. In some standard rooms we can place a baby bed. An extra bed for children under 12 is only possible in the ‘Suite for the Tribe’. For more information please contact our reservation department reservations@yalohotel.com.
All our rooms have a walk-in rain shower. Unfortunately, we do not have any rooms with a bathtub.
Each room has an XL box spring with a 210 cm topper.
You can tell us your preferences when you make your reservation. We will do our best to take your preference into account, however, this is subject to availability and we cannot guarantee this in advance. If you would like a room with a view, we recommend you book a city view room.
You can always indicate a preference and we will of course do our best to take your preference into account. However, this can never be guaranteed in advance.
We have some family junior suites where up to two extra beds can be placed for children under 12 years old. Standard rooms cannot accommodate extra beds due to lack of space. Unfortunately, there are no rooms with interconnecting doors in the hotel. If you wish to book a family room, please contact the booking office reservations@yalohotel.com.
